1. All people should train in a manner that helps reduce
both the occurrence and severity of physical injury.
2. An athlete's training program needs to reflect the
specific demands of the their chosen sport.
3. Players should use a variety of exercises, gaining muscular balance and essentially working every muscle group/joint in the body.
4. Concentration should be put on movement patterns that incorporate work in all three planes of motion.
5. All programs should be progressive and become more demanding and rigorous over time.
